“New favorite rod. Just spent a week in the Sawtooth range catching rainbow trout with the Satoki--super fun to fight fish on this rod, and never had any concerns about lacking adequate reach or backbone . The ability to 'zoom down' when shifting from one spot to another is a great way to avoid snags.”

“I love the length of the Ito but the flexibility of the Satoki is a great option. It’s like carrying three rods in one. The cast is smooth and it feels good in my hand. The simplicity of Tenkara is always great!”
I like using my tenkara gear to catch:Smaller size fish (say 8-12" / 20-30cm), Medium size fish (12-16" / 30-40cm), Larger size fish (16-20" / 40-50cm), Trout
I like using my tenkara rod in:Very small streams, Larger streams or rivers, Stillwater, Backpacking and remote waters
It was a gift for my husband's birthday.
He has only taken it out once, but caught a bunch of fish and loves if. Its the perfect size and weight for his hiking, backpacking, and camping trips.

Tenkara bounce nymphing rivers!
Although no rod does it all, the Satoki comes pretty close and would be my choice to use if I had only one, quality tenkara rod. It's stout and long enough for bigger rivers at full length but will shorten to 2 other lengths if the water is smaller and is light enough to cast dries, wets and nymphs (and mini streamers) all day without fatigue!

Really love the new rod. Feels great at all lengths and I got the hang of casting pretty quickly. Caught fish my first time out with it. Looking forward to spending a lot more time using it this summer.

Rod works well for adjusting to the 3 different lengths. That said, using the longest length is a bit 'wonky'; casting is a bit funky and not as smooth as the 12.2 length, so a bit disapointed in this as I thought the longer length would be allow fishing larger streams and or lakes easier. Instead the casting at the 13.7 length is not as consistent or accurate as with the 12.2 length. If I had the opportunity to buy this rod again, not sure I would do this.
