***Your Tenkara USA rod comes packaged with this case. The stand-alone case is available if you want to upgrade your older cases. You do not need to purchase a case if you are purchasing a new rod.

    Description:
Although a tenkara rod is its own case, these new Tenkara USA rod cases offer added protection when throwing the rod in the back of your car and are a nice decorative piece when the rods are not in use. The cases also come with a stretchy rod sock.

The new Tenkara USA are made of a carbon-fiber and fiberglass composite with one solid screw cap. The rod cases feature artwork by Jeremy Shellhorn, the person behind the a lot of Tenkara USA design work.

    Notes/Specs:
The tubes come in three different lengths:
    Amago, Iwana, Rhodo: 21.6" (55cm)
    Sato: 23.6" (60cm)
    Ito: 25.6" (65cm)

The tubes are all the same diameter, and share the same cap thread. However, each case comes with a cap with the name of the rod selected (other than the Sato rod model which will be a blank screw cap). Rod socks vary in color: black for Amago and Iwana, Red for Sato and Rhodo, Blue for Ito.

I like using my tenkara gear to catch: Medium size fish (12-16" / 30-40cm), Trout, Other species
I like using my tenkara rod in: Very small streams, Mountain streams, Larger streams or rivers, Stillwater
    Creeks,Rivers, and ponds.

Tenkara is an excellent method of presenting weighted or un-weighted nymphs and dry flies in a natural looking presentation to the waiting fish. Tenkara is a great method of tight line nymphing.

Well I initially got the case because of the awesome design on it for my nissin zerosum but when the case got to me it was already dinged up and scratched. Quality is good though and I like the sock it came with.

the rod tube is nice, but it had paint drips in the finish and I quite a large diameter. while I can fit two rods in one tube, I rarely do that and a slimmer better fitting tube would be more interesting.

I have several Tenkara rods in my arsenal(16), my latest addition two months ago was the Sato, I have never experienced such a light balanced Tenkara in the past several years. I have caught in excess of 200 Trout, Whitefish and Brown trout on the Boise river, in Idaho. I was fishing this afternoon and I hooked a massive Brown trout that snapped the third section on my Sato, it took one phone call to Tenkara USA and my part was shipped today. Can’t beat the customer service and the friendliness of the staff.
