    Description:
Besides a rod, line and fly, these are the only two other items we consider pretty much essential in our outings:

A small, ultra light forceps with a flat tip to remove the barb of your flies and remove the hooks that are deeper in a fish, and a small nipper to cut tippet when you change your flies. Not quite tenkara-exclusive, these are high quality standard forceps and nippers with features we picked based on our preference.

I like using my tenkara gear to catch: Smaller size fish (say 8-12" / 20-30cm), Medium size fish (12-16" / 30-40cm), Trout
I like using my tenkara rod in: Mountain streams
    Medium sized mountain streams

My new Sato rod seems high quality and is a blast. Certainly a learning curve though! Very pleased.

I like using my tenkara rod in: Very small streams, Larger streams or rivers, Stillwater
The White River in Arkansas on the shoals, Missouri trout streams and trout parks.

This is my 3rd set, one for fly fishing on my sling pack, one for Tenkara fishing on my vest and the 3rd set in case I lose one of the sets.

Great forceps & nipper kit - these forceps hold when locked down

I like using my tenkara rod in: Very small streams, Mountain streams, Larger streams or rivers
Small streams and rivers in the mountain foothills

These are my favorite forceps and nippers. I have a separate pair for each of my tenkara rods (in a Tenkara USA strap pack), each of my western flyfishing setups, and each spinning rod/lurebox combination.

I like using my tenkara rod in: Very small streams, Mountain streams, Larger streams or rivers, Stillwater, Backpacking and remote waters
    Rivers, ponds, lakes

Standard issue nippers and forceps, I like that they're compact and fit in my Tenkara fishing bag better than my other sets do. Work well and are obviously good quality and will last me for a long time.
