The Tenkara USA Satoki is the culmination of our attempt to offer the versatility of the Sato rod in a stronger and longer configuration for tenkara anglers chasing larger fish on larger waters.

The Satoki is our biggest triple zoom rod and can be fished at 10'8", 12'2", and 13'7". At the shorter lengths, it balances incredibly well in hand due to the counterbalance of the collapsed sections. At 13'7", it's smoother casting than our other offerings at this length. It provides a confident feel when casting and playing fish of all sizes. With a 22.5" closed length, the Satoki is easy to pack to that larger river or neighborhood pond you'll be fishing.

The handle has our natural double-tapered design to give the angler options for holding the rod for any given circumstance. We opted for durable foam construction to match the heavier use we anticipate for the rod. The Satoki handle assembly has a striking woven graphite finish, with classic reddish brown segments throughout the rod. The Satoki also features our (patent pending) "keep your plug" system and triple zoom functionality.

What makes this rod special? This rod is longer and more robust than the Sato (our best selling rod) and will put up a fight!

I like using my tenkara gear to catch: Smaller size fish (say 8-12" / 20-30cm), Medium size fish (12-16" / 30-40cm)
I like using my tenkara rod in: Very small streams, Mountain streams, Stillwater, Backpacking and remote waters
Small and mid-size streams; alpine lakes

New favorite rod. Just spent a week in the Sawtooth range catching rainbow trout with the Satoki--super fun to fight fish on this rod, and never had any concerns about lacking adequate reach or backbone . The ability to 'zoom down' when shifting from one spot to another is a great way to avoid snags.

Excellent rod. 3 lengths = versatility. Casts beautifully, and that’s coming from a novice whose casting is not very skilled.
