Trout creeks
I’m using the Ukiyo rod to fish the creeks and high sierra lakes.
The three first segments were straightforward and easy to install. I wish your rods all had a matte finish -- they are too shiny (see Clarke and Goddard, "The trout and the fly", 1970s). Now I will have to spray paint the replacements with matte green as I usually do.
Rod works well for adjusting to the 3 different lengths. That said, using the longest length is a bit 'wonky'; casting is a bit funky and not as smooth as the 12.2 length, so a bit disapointed in this as I thought the longer length would be allow fishing larger streams and or lakes easier. Instead the casting at the 13.7 length is not as consistent or accurate as with the 12.2 length. If I had the opportunity to buy this rod again, not sure I would do this.
I’ve only set up, so far, but am really satisfied with the quality. I’ll be out and repping Tenkara in a few weeks!
I bought two rods. he Satori rod is great. The Sato's distal tip of the second to last telescoping extension is broken and split in half which is disappointing, however, their customer service was great and helped me unjam the rod.

I own 3 of the Rhodo’s. I use it for myself and for guiding on a few more remote small wild trout streams. First time I used it caught a beautiful wild 11” brown.
Last outing both my clients caught a few smaller wild browns and loved the rods!
I pair the rods with level lines, it’s stiff but responsive with a softer tip-which I like. I do like the way it casts as well as the flex. Use both traditional Tenkara flies as well as American/English style dries, nymphs, and soft hackle/wets.
If you are looking for a fun, portable small stream Tenkara rod-this is a fantastic value! Highly recommended!
This rod is amazing. It fishes great at all lengths. I’ve caught tiny wild Brookies and larger 20” Rainbows, as well as a variety of species in between sizes. It’s a great rod!

Tenkara USA Assorted Rod Socks
Thank you for the replacement rod sections an inexpensive price. I broke a section my first time using the rod, and I felt very discouraged - like: okay, maybe Tenkara isn't for me. The inexpensive and easy to obtain replacement part restored my enthusiasm. Please be assured that I have watched more videos and am confident that I can, and will avoid making that precious mistake.
This line casts like a dream! It floats out from the tip of the rod, turns the fly over, and settles so softly on the water it’s scarcely even there. Great line!
