Very good craftsmanship on these flies. Prompt and good service!
Enjoyable. Light to the touch. Conveniently collapsed down while I was mid-stream in order to dissect a massive, two fly, 5x tangle.
I did find some chaff inside when I disassembled it after my first use. I might recommend checking it before first use to insure the sections don’t get wedged together by accident.
A beautiful rod, especially for the cost. I got the starter kit too and it was nice to get going with the full package. I have a feeling this wont be my only rod purchase from Tenkara USA.
Simple, well-made, functional tools for tying your tenkara flies.
Small, simple, functional. Perfect for nippers and forceps, this is a great addition to a simple tenkara outfit.
Awesome kit to get started tying tenkara flies. Has everything you need and nothing you don't!
The beanie might be the nicest winter hat I've ever had. Super soft, comfortable, and warm. Graphics are awesome too. I have one in my fishing jacket and one for around town. Highly recommended.
The parts arrived for my Hane on time and the repair was extremely simple to execute. All in all a very high-quality and enjoyable product
As always, TUSA is great with their customer service. This wasn’t my first rod tip I broke and it won’t be the last. I use the Hane and Amago for the streams I fish in and they do the job extremely well. Love to use them with 3.5 level line and the Nylon Tapered lines.
good solid rod
Having taken about a five year hiatus from practicing Tenkara, coming back to such a broadened pool of resources was a real treat. I remember first meeting Daniel and my mentor-to-be Jason at a fly fishing expo in 2013; I was just beginning my delve into fly fishing, and was scouring Youtube and Google for anything regarding this immersive form of fly fishing. After that meeting, and some river mileage under my belt, I was hooked. Fast forward to today, with how popular Tenkara has become outside of Japan as both a main form of practice as well as a great addition to any fisherpersons' quiver, Tenkara- the book is an invaluable resource for anyone looking to get started, build upon their experience, or fine-tune their practice. This book is a culmination of years of shared experience, research, and time on the water; most importantly, it emphasizes in the first few pages the importance of tradition and proficiency for generations of Japanese, properly citing Tenkara masters in Japan and highlighting its cultural origins.
I purchased a Rhodo rod after fishing a Sato for years. On getting home after my purchase, I found there was an issue with one of the ferule connections. I contacted Tenkara USA, and John sent a replacement handle immediately and the problem was solved. Thanks to Tenkara USA, I know have two great rods to fish the local area. Can't wait for the weather to warm up to try my new Rhodo in the smaller streams. Thanks John and Tenkara USA!
The shirt arrived in a snow storm. I immediately put it on and confirmed that it would be much better for a sunny summer day than a blizzard. Should work great as a sun layer this summer. Very light and breathable. Dried quickly after getting snowed on.
Was much nicer to cast than the nylon tapered line when the wind picked up a bit. Easy & accurate. No issues, had fun. I did enjoy the nylon line prior to the wind.
I own 2 Tenkara USA rods (Rhodi and Iwana) and have purchased the Kebari fly collection, which has been used with great success. I have experimented with each of the flies and caught fish with all. The collection is a great bargain with the case being a nice addition. Will purchase again when my current inventory is depleted. Thanks Tenkara USA.
