If you're a complete beginner (such as myself) and if you have an interest in Japanese culture, this book is for you. The illustrations do a terrific job of teaching the basics of reading a river, depicting the various types of flies used in tenkara, and the setup and use of one's gear. The stories contained within have inspired me to actively embrace not only tenkara, but also the sport of fishing as well.

I have recently purchased the print variant of the “Tenkara,” by Daniel Galhardo. It arrived at 06/08/2021. When I went to unpackaged it the page’s fell out of the cover. Also my first six pages are crumpled up at the tops and bottoms of the pages. I will be shortly returning it to get a new one. So my first impression of the book wasn’t very pleasant.
