IWANA™ 12ft (360cm)
The Iwana is our classic all-around tenkara rod and at a great value. The progressive taper, ultra-light weight, and tip action provides for great battles, even with smaller fish. Quality and strength are by no means compromised, and landing large fish is not unheard of. The original choice of many early tenkara adopters outside of Japan, the Iwana is still a great choice to help you fall in love with tenkara.
It packs to a small compact size of 20 1/2 inches, which makes it easy to fit in a day pack
These rods have a beautiful "glossy carbon" finish, where you can see the high-quality carbon fiber material through a nice glossy finish.

So far the rod is great, I’ve caught a few bass on it with ease. Super simple and straight forward to use. Highly recommend this to anyone that may be on the fence about ordering it.
Love this rod. Well balanced and capable of handling bigger fish.
I absolutely love this rod. I have been fishing tenkara for about 5 years now, and felt it was time to invest in a little higher quality rod. The feel and playability of this rod is remarkable.
This is my first Tenkara rod (I am used to using an 8 weight western fly rod). I really enjoy how light and portable the rod is. The 12 ft. length took a little getting used to, but it's nice for casting into hard to reach spots on the river. I caught my first fish (10 inch brook trout) last weekend, and I am looking forward to going out again soon!
Good quality equipment. I've just started learning how to fly fish. (Tenkara is much easier) I went out with a guide and tried Tenkara.
Loved it and now I'm hooked. Much easier learning curve. My wife will be joining me this weekend for are lessons.
Very happy with the equipment and love the history behind Tenkara. I will be certainly adding to my equipment soon.
