IWANA™ 12ft (360cm)
The Iwana is our classic all-around tenkara rod and at a great value. The progressive taper, ultra-light weight, and tip action provides for great battles, even with smaller fish. Quality and strength are by no means compromised, and landing large fish is not unheard of. The original choice of many early tenkara adopters outside of Japan, the Iwana is still a great choice to help you fall in love with tenkara.
It packs to a small compact size of 20 1/2 inches, which makes it easy to fit in a day pack
These rods have a beautiful "glossy carbon" finish, where you can see the high-quality carbon fiber material through a nice glossy finish.

I've never fly-fished before in my life, but I was able to catch fish on my very first outing with my new IWANA rod and gear from Tenkara USA. After watching a number of videos in preparation for the new rod, I found it to be a natural thing for me.
I'm happy with this length of this rod and what I've been able to learn even in just a few trips to the neighborhood pond. I'm excited to take this rod to places I wouldn't normally fish.
I've only used my Iwana a handful of times but I'm finding it to be both and interesting and enjoyable experience. Still need to get a hang of casting. Overall I'm quite happy with my purchase
Great product. Unbelievable customer service. This is my second rod from TenkaraUSA and I will buy more.
Beautiful rod. Quality fit and finish. Casting is effortless and accurate. This rod is my go-to most versatile. It will handle bigger fish and still be delicate for smaller fish.
I had zero experience with fly fishing or Tenkara and I was able to pick it up and catch trout in no time!
