HANE™ 10ft10in (330cm)
The Hane™ is a super compact all-around tenkara rod that will quickly become your favorite adventure rod. Measuring just under 15 inches when collapsed, but extending to 10ft 10in (330cm), the Hane fits nicely inside a small day pack, making this a superb tenkara rod for backpacking, bikefishing and other adventures.
Whether you are targeting trout in a mountain stream, or bass in an urban pond, the Hane will work well. It's a rod that can tag along in a variety of conditions without compromising durability. The Hane is also a popular rod for kids.
We decided to make this rod white, a unique color in our lineup. The idea was to have a rod that will blend in well with open skies above. A black rod does a good job blending in with canopy, but its movement tends to stand out when fishing ponds and open meadow streams. The thin and less visible tip sections of the rod are matte black.

I bought this rod for the portability and packability for fishing remote waters in Maine. The plan is to do some trail running and fishing. So far, it hasn't disappointed me. It's light and perfect for throwing in your trail running pack. I don't know if this is by design, but it actually fits perfectly in the Salomon quiver (it's the perfect length). You can even fit this rod plus your two trekking poles with no problem in the quiver.
It feels much stiffer than the other Tenkara USA rods, and it takes some getting used to. The first time I used this rod, I applied too much pressure and lost a few fish. I also fell and broke one of the sections. Customer service was awesome in helping me get a replacement for it (I emailed them). Now it's good as new!
Unfortunately the tip broke, which was expected eventually with the environments i fish, and they arent in stock and are not replying to my inquiry. The reason i spent this much was for the option of replacement tip. As of right now waste of $160. Other than poor customer service great rod
I went fishing just this past week, BUT, it was SOOO COLD & WINDY, I STAYED INDOORS THE WHOLE STAY... So I didn't get a chance to even set it up for action...
I purchased the Hane for my brother & he just loves it. We get out on the water together. He in his kayak and me in my canoe. He got "hooked" last summer when I was fly fishing and I gave him my ITO to try out. He marvelled at the simplicity as he caught small fish so easily. So this spring I got him his own rod and the Hane because it is so compact. He does a lot of hiking so it fits easily in his pack and is always ready. Puts a new dimension on his journeys.
This is my 4th different tenkara rod, this one is my newest/least used and only rod to break in the lower 3rd of the blank. I got hung up on the bottom, and admittedly gave it a big hook set as I thought it was a fish and it just crumbled in the lower section. Ive abused my other tenkara rods much harder in my opinion, broken tip section once on a different rod so very much question the durability of this rod (unless I unknowingly dropped this on a rock weakening the blank). 3 stars because I continued to fish the last 4 ft tip section during that outing and still landed and played many fish it was great. But wouldn’t be confident in purchasing again.
