Tapered Tenkara Lines (furled)
Tenkara USA's furled tapered tenkara lines cast easily and with precision, cut through wind, and do not snarl when freed from a snag. These are the easiest lines to cast among our offerings.
Tapered tenkara lines come with a transition loop on the thicker end, which will be girth-hitched to the tip of the tenkara rod. For your convenience, a tippet ring has been added to the end of the line. Tenkara USA lines are hand-woven by expert line-makers in the United States.
Our Tenkara furled line was developed to cast and fish in perfect balance with tenkara rods. We believe we achieved the perfect furled tenkara line with this one.

Bought this to replace the tapered line after losing it (along with the rod tip) after a careless tackle change mid-stream. Not sure what I love more — the ease of unfurling the line after storage (the tapered requires more care to keep it from snarling) or the ease of casting it. Used it on Resurrection Creek in Hope, AK, and threw a bead setup with .5in strike indicator without a problem.
The Tenkara USA furled line is the go-to line for dries and other flies that require the lightest of presentations. It casts beautifully and kind of “floats” through the air, landing your fly with the most delicate of presentations. Because it is tapered, you get really tight loops when casting with very minimal effort. I like to use this line when I’m casting dry flies or when there is some wind as it casts much better/easier in the wind than level line.
This product is fantastic. Works well with my tenkara rod. I also have to give Tenkara USA 10 stars for outstanding customer service, can't recommend them highly enough.
I can't leave a review for a furled line because I didn't receive one. I got a tapered nylon line instead. But I sure it will do fine once I use it.
This was my first time using a furled line and I have really enjoyed it. Takes a bit of learning at first to get used to it and figure it out but it is great in windier conditions and is super durable. I love that a tippet ring came preinstalled on it.
