Forceps & Nipper Set
Description
Description:
Besides a rod, line and fly, these are the only two other items we consider pretty much essential in our outings:
A small, ultra light forceps with a flat tip to remove the barb of your flies and remove the hooks that are deeper in a fish, and a small nipper to cut tippet when you change your flies. Not quite tenkara-exclusive, these are high quality standard forceps and nippers with features we picked based on our preference.

I was very disappointed with the nippers and forceps. The black coating was rough and rubbed off easily. The forceps locking mechanism was so stiff that it took considerable force to unlock. The jaws were deformed so that only the tips made contact and there was a noticeable gap in the rest of the supposed contact area. I had to file the locking teeth just to make them barely operable.
This experience is in stark contrast with every other item I have purchased in the past (Amago, Sato, Satoki, braided line, level line, tapered line, flies and line keeper spools), which have all been of the highest quality.
My recommendation is go with uncoated actual stainless steel surgical quality forceps and stainless steel nippers. The ones I received were either poorly designed or part of a flawed batch.
I remain a loyal and highly satisfied customer in every other respect.
Be well and stay safe!

Great quality at very reasonable price.
Forceps and nippers were great and are reasonably placed unlike some of the other flyfishing shops.
My new Sato rod seems high quality and is a blast. Certainly a learning curve though! Very pleased.
This is my 3rd set, one for fly fishing on my sling pack, one for Tenkara fishing on my vest and the 3rd set in case I lose one of the sets.
