Amano™ Kebari (size 12, 3 flies)
This is the only tenkara fly used by Mr. Katsutoshi Amano, a name readily recognized by tenkara practitioners in Japan. Like most tenkara masters in Japan, Mr. Amano sticks with one fly pattern, and his entire box is filled with the same exact fly - same size, same color. This tenkara fly comes alive when underwater, especially if pulsated.
Mr. Amano's favorite way to fish it is to cast slightly upstream and do a 4-count up and down motion following the fly downstream. He fishes it under the surface, and when the fly is pulled up its hackle opens up, when relaxed the hackle closes.
Sold in size 12. Three flies.

These are beautifully tied flies that just work. While I have used these flies in "typical" tenkara-type mountain creeks, I've also used them in larger rivers, small ponds, and mountain lakes. They are easy to fish, can be used wet or dry, and have been very productive for me. I always have a few of these on hand.
I've had good success with all of the Tenkara USA flies but this is my favorite. Has worked well in a variety of situations and with different techniques. Very versatile and fun to use in different ways.
This is that fly that always finds it's way onto the end of my line. It seems to be the most versatile, for my local rivers.
These are great flies. I’d like to try to tie myself but until I do, these will be my go to.
The flies I received all were solid black. They looked nothing like the picture. I can't tell what material was used for the hackle, but it wasn't what the picture says it is. I now notice the description doesn't mention that detail.
