Where I may fish some small narrow streams, the Tenkara gets to places easier.
Love the TenkaraUSA lifetime warranty and phone support. Goofed up retracting pole segments and got 2 jammed together ... called for support and got great guidance on options within the hour ... replacement segments sent at VERY reasonable cost. Top notch company.
Convenient and well designed. A pleasure to use.
This is my 3rd set, one for fly fishing on my sling pack, one for Tenkara fishing on my vest and the 3rd set in case I lose one of the sets.
Good selection. Easy to tie myself and add my own variations of each fly.
Used my new HANE rod for the first time on 8/3/22. Idaho mountain stream. Preformed flawlessly. Many 8-12 inch Cutthroat trout landed.
Have had the Ito out an a few trips so far, the more I fish this rod the more I'm liking the reach when extended. I like to choke up on the handle with my thumb and forefinger touching the blank, gives me more casting feel and the rod is balanced and feels lighter. The rod cast light #2-2.5 level lines 5-6m long with ease and I have no doubt will handle longer lines and larger water and fish while being a lot of fun catching 6-12" trout on the smaller streams I fish.
Awesome rod for fishing mountain streams. I've probly caught around 60 fish with it so far in only 4 lunch break hikes. Easy to get used to if you've done any euro nymphing. Definitely would be wary to try to land a large trout on it as it has a lot of bend. But that makes it feels super fun when catching small to medium size native trout. Would definitely recommend and will be doing a youtube video with it.
any stream I can.
I recently purchased the mini Tenkara strap pack. I was incredibly impressed with the quality and especially the materials used (common in HIGH end ultralight backpacking gear). It’s the perfect size to hold a few lines, a small fly box, and all the little goodies like nippers, floatant and pliers on convenient toggles on the outside. It has a handy hidden pocket on back for a fishing license, and a stretch pocket on front for things like extra tippet or a snack. Highly satisfied and will come back to Tenkara USA for more of my Tenkara needs. I fish a Tenkara USA Sato.
Simple and effective
Small, tight, hard to access streams.
First tenkara rod I have owned. I was drawn to the simplicity of tenkara. I have taken the rod out a few times on small mountain streams and quite enjoy it! I was catching smaller trout in the 6-12” range. I haven’t had to use the zoom feature often, but it is a nice feature when surroundings require a shorter rod. The feel of the rod is wonderful and the tenkara kit is nice. Overall, I am very pleased and look forward to using it often.
