AMAGO™ 13ft6in (410cm)

$180.00
Style: Rod Only
Description

Named after one of Japan's most beautiful mountain stream trout, the AMAGO™ is our longest non-zoom rod at 13 feet and 6 inches long (410cm). Longer rods provide distinct advantages over shorter rods—generally speaking, we recommend using the longest rod you can for the stream you are fishing.

Based on the request of several tenkara anglers this rod has a black finish. The handle was meticulously designed to provide good counterbalance to the long rod and for extra comfort on a long day of casting your delicate line and fly . The wider end of the handle serves two purposes: it provides a slightly better counter balance to the rod, and serves as a good grip for using the full length of the rod.

Tenkara Usa Amago Rod testimonial.

Scott Schill

“I love my Amago for open water and larger fish. It has a great feel for the fight but it’s deceptively tough. I recently broke a Tenkara pole my brother in law loaned me attempting to land a large fish at Coffee Pot Rapids in Idaho. I replaced it with the Amago from Tenkara USA, which I should’ve used in the first place.”

Kevin Kelley

“Just fished a local stream by the dam and the Amago performed very well. I have used the Sato for most of this year and the Amago was able to place the flies very nicely on the water. The extra length was great. Love my tenkara USA rods!”

Haven’t had it on any water yet it is all hard yet with ice

I’m impressed with the high quality and and currently tying patterns with hen soft hackle with 12, 14 & 16 hooks

Should have it on the water in the next two weeks

On a side note, how much would it cost me to buy an extra tip section with the lillen
in case it breaks

I’m thinking it be good to have a backup when I’m traveling

Awesome rod! Been using in local river and lake. The Amago might be long but has been great to get over reeds and weed beds!!! Fantastic results!!!
